London, UK — Lightbulb Film Distribution has officially announced that the 1980s cult-horror classic Street Trash (1987) arrives on 4K UHD Collector’s Edition Blu-ray and digital platforms this spring.

Directed by J. Michael Muro and made for an estimated $100,000, the legendary film spawned the iconic “melt” movie sub-genre. To celebrate the physical and digital release, the feature has been newly restored from the original negative.

The limited Collector’s Edition is capped at just 2,000 copies and is housed inside a special VHS-style box. It is available to pre-order now via Amazon, HMV, and Zavvi.

Key features of this highly anticipated physical release include over five hours of brand-new extras, newly recorded audio commentaries, and exclusive artwork and inserts carefully crafted by acclaimed illustrator Graham Humphreys.

"We are delighted to be bringing Street Trash ’87 to 4K UHD for the very first time and to celebrate this classic melt movie in all its gloopy, gunky glory," said Matthew Kreuzer, Commercial Director at Lightbulb Film Distribution. "We can’t wait to hear and see horror fans’ reactions when they receive the Limited Collector’s Edition VHS Box in their hands."

Set in a derelict junkyard in Brooklyn, the story follows two young runaways struggling to survive on the streets. However, the greatest threat to the vagabonds is not the harsh life, but a mysterious case of Tenafly Viper in Ed's liquor store. This toxic brew has been sitting around for over forty years, and it's gone bad—REAL bad.

Run Time: 101 minutes

BBFC Certificate: 18
