Prime Video has set 29th April as the worldwide premiere date for The House of the Spirits, unveiled during the 76th Berlinale Film Festival.
The eight-part series marks the first Spanish-language television adaptation of The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, a novel long regarded as a cornerstone of modern Latin American literature. The drama will launch in more than 240 countries and territories.
Set in an unnamed South American nation navigating political turbulence and rigid class divisions, the story follows three generations of women: Clara, Blanca and Alba. Their lives unfold against decades of social change, family conflict and the looming presence of Esteban Trueba, whose ambition shapes the family’s destiny as much as the country’s.
Alfonso Herrera stars as Esteban Trueba. Nicole Wallace and Dolores Fonzi portray Clara del Valle at different stages of her life. The wider ensemble includes Fernanda Castillo as Férula, Aline Küppenheim as Nivea del Valle, Eduard Fernández as Severo del Valle, Fernanda Urrejola as Blanca, Rochi Hernández as Alba, Juan Pablo Raba as Tío Marcos and Nicolás Contreras.
Allende executive produces alongside Eva Longoria and Courtney Saladino. Showrunners Francisca Alegría, Fernanda Urrejola and Andrés Wood lead the creative team.
The series is produced by FilmNation Entertainment, the studio behind Anora and Conclave, with support from the Chilean production company Fabula.
The House of the Spirits begins streaming globally on 29th April.
