Caught amid the festival rush, The Scene Drift caught up with Kintera to talk traditional Czech comfort food, navigating intense material, and her ambitions to enter the world of dystopian sci fi.

           

The Czech Feast and Breaking Out of Character

To capture the essence of a film that carries heavy emotional resonance, Kintera turns to her roots when asked to sum up the project as a meal.

"Maybe… it’s a Czech food," Kintera smiles. "Vepřo knedlo zelo. It’s because there are three foods there: meat, cabbage, and knedlíky. It’s all one food and it’s really good, but it has layers."

Moving past the intense energy required for the role, stepping away from the project leaves behind both relief and lingering pride once the final cut hits the screen.

"It’s a great feeling when you’re done, because you had the feeling that you did something extraordinary," Kintera explains. "Then we were at Karlovy Vary, and it was big. I didn’t expect that it would be that big. But it’s a really good feeling that we’ve done something great and people like it."

Thrillers Sci Fi Arenas and Dystopian Worlds

While Kintera is drawing praise for her work in the drama sphere, she holds clear ambitions for dynamic genres packed with suspense and grand world building.

"I would really love to play in some thriller," Kintera says. "I like twists! And some sci fi, something like The Hunger Games or that kind of thing. There’s a new one coming out, of course I’ll watch it, I love it."

When pressed for her favorite screen influences, Kintera highlights stories anchored by deep, complicated character dynamics. Her personal picks lean into emotional vulnerability: The Notebook, alongside beloved drama series like Normal People and Dexter.

Screen Idols and the Weight of Broken Voices

When imagining future screen partners, Kintera looks directly to one of modern cinema’s most versatile legends.

"I love Natalie Portman, she’s my favorite actress," Kintera shares without hesitation. Her personal highlight from Portman's catalog? "Definitely Closer."

As Broken Voices steps into the spotlight for international festival audiences, the emotional aftermath of the story remains front and center for Kintera. Rather than wrapping everything into a tidy bow, the work asks viewers to sit with its nuances.

"It’s really sensitive," Kintera reflects. "I think it’s hard to process the film and everything, but it leaves that impact."
